I still think you are missing the point. Losing control of the bike doesnt mean you have no control over the rest of the situation. Once you come to the realization you are more than likely going to crash because you lost control, you still have options. You can try and hang on to regain control, you can hang on and just let the bike do its thing, essentially doing nothing and let whatever happens, happen, or you can try to bail.
Every situation is different and I can certainly think of situations where bailing is the right thing to do, FOR ME, based on my skills. Bailing and dealing with a minor lowside sounds a lot more appealing than trying to save it and wind up highsiding.
The point at which one fells they have lost control is going to be different for everybody based on experience. You have been on a bike much longer than myself and have ridden tens of thousands of miles more than me, maybe even hundreds of thousands
Maybe for you the point where you lost control is when you have crashed and cant recover, and there is no chance to regain control... for some of us, I don't think we view it that way.
