Default it's almost like walking

Friday I got out of the wheel chair and started using crutches! Got out of the cast on the left leg also and it was put in a boot like the right leg has. It's still non weight bearing, but the right is full weight bearing with the boot for short periods of time. I still have the wheelchair for those longer periods, but it feels good to kinda stand up straight! After my first weekend on the crutches, I'm getting pretty comfortable on them, but the right ankle and lower leg are getting very sore and achey, as well as very swollen! But that's what ice packs are for. Just gotta figure out my limits.
Also got the OK to start driving in two weeks! Only problem is my truck in manual transmition, and my left foot will be too useless to push a clutch for a long while still. So I'm looking to buy a cheap automatic vehicle to use for a few months and sell later.
I can't wait to start riding again!

Nice Omar.!!!! Once you feel pain get off it.. Back to the wheel chair. If the doctor says 2 hours on crutches make it a hour or less. If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't of listen to the doctor. His main job is to get you on your feet and moving around.

I don't think his dad did the surgery, but I am guessing he is getting plenty of advice/consultation from his dad after the fact. He is a surgeon, afterall... Omar is geting A++++ care...
