Unless the warranty is going to help you out, your probably better off money wise doing the diagnostics on your own. See if you can hook up with a service manual.

Phrase of the Day: Root Cause

Warranty is nice, but its not an insurance policy and only covers mfr defects. Keep this in mind that if you give them the green light to go ahead with tearing the engine down, that all they are trying to do is find the root cause. They can't make a determination on if its covered by warranty until they know what the root cause is.

If warranty doesnt cover it (which means Mfr doesnt pay the dealer for the time they spent doing diagnostic), expect to see a bill. Just giving you a worst case scenario.

Anything right now by anybody is speculation until you determine root cause.

lolol here to update the REAL problem on the kawi!!!
xtreme just called me to tell me i hydrolocked it!!!
too much oil in da air filter spark plugs were drowned in oil and oil leaked to the top portion of the first piston head!!!

she said either i was doing too many wheelies or i put in too much oil!!
and it was neither cuz i just came off my appendix disability so wheelies are out of the question and i only put in 3.5 of the motul oil i bought to start off..

i think i just started it too many times when i was trying to find out if the old battery was really dying on me or it was just sitting around too long in da garage!!

you hydrolocked it? air filter oil?! what?? unless you poured a half gallon of oil on the filter....air filter oil will not hydrolock an engine. and if there was enough to do so...im thinkin theres a lot of gummed up crap in that head. and if its engine oil.....tell them you want to know how and where the oil was getting past the piston rings and why.

dosnt make sense

lol retarts!!!!

what i said was ....xtreme said i put too much oil in the engine and it was forced into the spark plugs and drowned them and forced upwards into the airfilter box through some breather tubes and into the piston chamber so they had to drain and clean everything then put it back together fuggers!!! lmao..whatever-all i know was it was expensive and its all fixed and runs like it always did!!! thats all i want right now!!!
