Default My Rim On The SV...

Some of you might of read, I had a lil off road excursion at Summit Point few weeks ago...hit a nice lip in the pavement as I was running wide...was able to keep it upright thankfully...but here was the outcome...as you see this rim is a gonner...the tire was still fine which is cool...went up to WCW...slapped it on the new rim and I'm all set for next weekend

Guess sv doesn't stand for subterrain vehicle after all

BTW, you also posted up a DIY tire mounting link in another thread... Did you attempt to install your own rubbers?

Maybe it's just me, but I would not trust a tire that
had gone through an impact hard enough to break
the wheel. The carcass of that tire may have many
broken cords, possibly leading to a catastophic
failure, most likely at the time of highest stress,
full speed on a long straight, you know, like at VIR.

Good Luck...

This was my same concern as well, Ron and Papa John(wcw) inspected it and couldn't find any abnormal abrasions, marks, or any other reason why the tire couldn't be used. But yea, the true test will be out on the track...one or two sessions to test it out...I have a back up with 4 days on it if needed. This is also the last track day of the season, after vir, bike is goin in the shop for a complete look over...puttin 'er up on the dyno...makin sure everything is good...maybe some new lil goodies here n there
