I posted this just as something to pass the time. I hear all this laughing and snikering in there, but there's no translation.

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. Oh wait, wrong "vs."

I've got a fully functional sword. It's very hard at the edge and very brittle, too. Lead bullet is like butter to this sword. However, do the same test while the sword is turned 90 degrees, and see what happens. Once again, the sword is rock solid if it hits the object straight on. Any angle, and the metal will start chipping away.
Like someone said, it was designed to cut through human flesh.
Nice video though, and like someone said, physics at its best.

I've been wanting to get one these swords for a while, but am afraid I'll hurt myself as I know I'll want to play with it! (I watch way too much anime!)
I think of it as a good home defense system (at least until there are kids and they're old enough to reach it) since you don't need to reload it!
I wish I knew what they're snikering about in the back though!

its much more satisfying to be hands on then just to shot someone. I have good Katana, they cost alot of $ for a battle ready one, watch out for those $99 cheepies

I really want it for aesthetics. I admire what I know of the old-school Japanese culture, and I feel the katana embody a lot of that.
with that said... a $99 "cheapie" would work well for me!
