did you know Mark up on gas is about 100%. If we marked up a car that much a Accord would be worth 45k. That means in order for the oil company's to break even they could charge $1.50 a gallon!

actually... oil companies make 8 to 15 cents per gallon at the pump.

the government collects about $1.50 per gallon in taxes for providing no service in getting the gas to you.... so who is actually you?

the simple answer..... EVERYONE involved including commodities traders

its about speculatin its all being traded on speculation and it is not regulated at all. they are actually trading on a 5% margin and they never take delivery.. put a rule in that if you trade X amount of barrales per month you must take physical delivery of x ammount of barrals.. watch and see how oil prices plumet.

my old neighbor used to trade oil (way back in the day) but basicly said that ships are filled with oil they go out to sea and change ports of delivery 5 -10 times before they offload. I can only imagine how it is now adays...

They were talking about this on NPR on Friday I believe. What sucks is OPEC can't do anything to help either, it's not about oil supply.

Ironic isn't it...I can recall some diesel rates being under $1.00/gal. 15 years ago that were still cheaper than gas rates at the time.

At least you're not driving one of these for your income. We all know that's a whole other story.
