Default Painted my Marchesini wheels today

I picked up a set of used Marchesini magnesium wheels for my TZ250. They were a bit beat up, but strictly cosmetic stuff. I stripped off the old paint and re-painted them black today.
Working on getting the new paint scheme in order, had to start with getting the enw wheels painted first so I can ride in the meantime. Going for a black Monster Energy paint job with yellow number plates.
I used a 2 part catalyst paint for the job, 3 part system, metal etching primer, color coat and clear coat. I will post better pics of the wheels after they are dry enough to handle them.

Here are the wheels
Ken

Have you considered baking the paint while it's curing to harden? Will make it more durable.

I will be leaving these on the roof tomorrow to grab some sunshine. That alone will do lots to help harden the paint since it will be warm again tomorrow. This is chemically activated paint, it will harden on its own in due time.
Years ago, when I painted for a living, I shot lots of enamel and that required some baking to harden the paint. Todays paints require a lot less of that.
My concern is how much damage they take from mounting tires, if they take a beating from tire changes, I will just repaint them as needed.

I don't have heat lamps. I may invest in them someday down the road, but I am not too interested in getting them just yet.

Ehhhh, chipped rim lips adds character dude.

I recently painted a set of rotor carries and threw them in the oven for about 2 hours at 150 and it made the surface pretty durable as it's resisted a few decent dings already.

Would be good for a side job to paint peeps rims...you should invest in the heat lamps and start painting away.
