Jardine makes a nice 4-into-2 exhaust for your Nighthawk but you'll have to get a Stage 1 Jet Kit for the carbs. Or you can always slap on a Yoshimura 4-into-1 like I did. You'll be amazed how great that motor sounds when it's freed up!

It's been a while but I believe around 4-6 bills for either of the full systems and the jet kits installed should only be around 150. Call your local bike shop to find out.

Question

Question.

Recently had my carbs rejetted (stage 2) and had a micron pipe put on. Very pleased with everything so far, but how much of a hit should one expect with regard to mileage?

Nice choices Vin, but being you're going to hit the track you should run a 2-into-1 full system with those pipe makes. The bike has more than enough torque on the exits so you don't really need the 2-into-2 keeping the bike's peak power limited from low to mid range on the tach. A nice 2-into-1 system will give you the smooth mid to high range power which equals more speed.

I have no idea what the loss percentage per gal is, but providing you're running the proper octane & the carbs are tuned properly with the pipe there should be miminal unburned fuel loss as well as minimal mpg loss. Just top off the tank, run it up to 100 miles with your normal riding style, fill it up again and do the math.

Added bonus on a 2-1: It's also one less pipe to fuck up when I lowside.

I had a Holeshot on my old 650... Damn fine pipe.

Try and find another TLS with a TRS 2-1 set-up

Bern, do you have (or know of) any tutorials on actually creating a two to one from scratch? I'd like to do a two to one highmount conversion with my stock pipes.

I remember over on http://www.sv1000.zyns.com/ talk about modifing the stock system into a 2-1 (a simple search might work). Once that is done you could then contact Dale and get the midpipe and single can to do the rest. I'm sure he'd work out selling 1/2 a system. That would be most tasty.

Found one... http://www.sv1000.zyns.com/forums/sh...&highlight=2-1
