Default getting back to this thread......

originally started by Smokes35
http://www.sportbikeaddicts.com/foru...read.php?t=818

im getting ready to repair my Track Body body work.

what i bought was what he listed.

- US Chemicals Fiber Glass Resin Number 58020 & Hardener
- Fiber Glass Matt 8 Feet long
- Sand Paper 40 - 60 - 80 and 150 grit
- Mixing Cups & Sticks
- Double Coated Latex Gloves
- Fiber Glass Spreader. (the guy at the store recommended it because its 10 times easier to spread the new fiber glass out and get rid of bubbles ETC) it looks like a spackle knife, but softer and round on the edge.
- 1/2 gallon Acetone (shhhh) to remove greese, grime, oils ETC

i to will post pictures and detailed information as to the process i did.
the guy at the store gave me helpful hints after showing him the printed pages that i printed from Smokes original thread. he told me a few secret tips but said judging from the pictures, he did a great job on his work.

well after nearly 3 hours i got the entire belly pan sanded down right to the fiberglass. and that wasnt the big one, i still have the upper to do which is teice the size of the belly pan.

but the belly pan has more minor damage then i anticipated. after sanding i noticed some small holes that were covered by stickers. nothing to complain about.

pictures still to come

remember if you can feel it with your hand it will show up after painting. Sand, sand, sand until it is smooth as hell. It a lot of work but it's going to make all of the differenct in the end.

Where are the before pictures.

heres a few pictures of the belly pan. so far the entire thing is sanded down to the fiber glass... it took sometime doing it. but afterwards there will be no more dings, cracks and holes..

didnt do to much to the upper and tail because i got sick that night and still feel like shit. but i'll post more pictures when i get back to doing it. probably over the weekend.
