Tell me, does it really matter? The laptimes are 3sec off. The racing is the same, all the major players have bikes that do the job, even ducati's small bike is 850cc now! Snobs like mladin turn their noses up.
It also allows buell ( ) and bmw to race their double sized bikes as well.
When they go back to 1000s, wouldn't buell and bmw need to make 2000cc bikes?

Thats a good point! Plus the bikes being 600's gives more privateers a chance to make the show.

Yes, I think it does matter. But that's just my opinion.
To me, it's a similar situation to the Indy Racing League splitting off
from CART; and both sides end up losing something. The IRL loses
many of the best people, CART loses the biggest race of the year.

I like seeing the "best" guys in the "biggest" race; there's history behind every win.
I also want to see good racing, and not just for third place,
so we'll just have to wait and see how it all turns out.

Personally, I don't give a shit about the lap times, but in racing 3 seconds is a lifetime.

Looks like they'll be bringing in two way radios for next season also.
That'll be interesting...

Therein lies the problem(or what used to be). The so called world center for racing is a shitty track and even worse for motorcycles. The tires were exploding with the hp and speeds the superbikes were making, hence several track configurations later and the FX bikes being used for the 200. So what do the new owners do now? Frackem, ride the 1000s and if tires blow they blow? Best and biggest could be deadliest(again).

If you remember the BIGGEST complainer about the tires blowing up was Mladin. So they changed things, FX in the 200 and he turns his nose up. What, you can only win on your 1000? 600s 3 seconds slower are what, not good enough? 3 years into it and suzi still won't build him one? BS!

Just like the rangers, they drove their team into near bankruptcy with the largest payroll in the NHL and couldn't make the playoffs for years with a deep all-star team. So they basically forced the lockout to get more rules suited to them. Now what, they make the playoffs(barely) and dump right away.
