The basic story... Yesterday 23rd I was chasing this one guy who was slowing me up in the back (where I'm faster) and every time I tried to pass him on the straights he'd pull away since I'm still a little nervous to twist the throttle. Well my competitive nature got the best of me and he must have let off a little or something coming out of T14 and I took advantage of it. I passed him by the time I passed Start/Finish and was going too hot (for me) into T1. Thats when I saw 2 bikes coming on from pit row and for the split second I looked at them, it broke my concentration going thru the turn, mistake #1. I didn't look thru the turn like I know I should've and the bike was going way wide. The pavement between the bike and the dirt was getting smaller and smaller so I thought "hell, I'll just ride it off, like I've done a couple times before" but this time I was on slicks note to self, slicks aren't good for shit on the grass!! Wet grass either!! Well I was riding it out pretty good but I wasn't slowing down. mistake #2- grabbed a handful of front brake! then my senses came back as I invisioned myself flying over the handlebars, so I let go and tried to ride it out more. Well not wanting to become a part of the Yamaha sign, I tried to turn back toward the track which was mistake #3 that's where i dumped it. The bike slid out from under me and I did my best "tuck and roll" for about 10 feet. Ask SpeedKills, he was behind me. I bounced back up and thought "hey I'm still alive" but my thumb kinda hurts. On to the "ride of shame" I put some ice on the thumb and waited until after lunch to attempt another ride, since the DUCATI was still RUNNING when the truck came to pick me up. I actually hit the kill switch to turn it off.. I love my bike. She was cleaned up looked over and I went back after lunch to do another session. That one hurt my ribs more, so I probably aggrivated them by doing so. I don't know how you guys do it *cough "Melka" and whoever else has wrecked and then hopped right back on the bike to finish riding. I bumped my self down to Novice to see how I'd handle the pain. Pain was minimal and I was getting held up so I went back to Intermediate. Then the damn competitive nature takes over and I try to catch another person I was playing chase with earlier in the day. Until I came into 3/4/5 ouch/ouch/ouch.... my day was done at that point. I pitted in and called it a day.
I probably just bruised right thumb and severely bruised left ribs. Those hurt like a bitch. So much for laughing, coughing, sneezing, sitting, walking, breathing or anything else comfortably for a couple days.....
My doctor didn't see me until after 3 today...
All in all, not a horrible day, could've been worse. Much worse... I could be in the hospital and my bike could be broken. (no Duc jokes)
I did however drop my time. I did a 1:36. YAY ME! 5 seconds down from my last best time. I know I probaly could've done better if I would've just hot pitted and let that guy go...
*sigh*
Oh and a HUGE Thank You LUKE for being the best pit bitch EVER! He even put my hair in a ponytail because I couldn't use my thumb.
I'll post pics as soon as his Dad downloads them.

OK, you know what you did wrong, learn from it.
Why was your bike running when on it's side? Don't ducs have tip-over switches? Having a bike run on it's side with zero oil pressure isn't cool.
