If there is a situation like too many red flags or a spill cleanup then there is less track time. Stuff like this happens and it's part of the game.

Yesterday we did not get out until after 9:30 and we ended at 4:30, so it was not a really "full" track day "per the TPM manual". Luckily during the day there were relatively few track incidents so riders got as much as possible from the reduced track time.
I would have been more acceptant of the twilight group if people who paid for Full track days back in the springtime were somehow accomodated with maybe a reduced fee twilight session fee or a partial refund from what we paid back in February/March. If this was the situation since the beginning of the year, I may have opted to skip these dates as I do all of the 4 group and car days. Changing it up the format after allowing people to sign up is a bit weak.
Planning to run two separate track events on the same day on the same track is causing an issue in my not so humble anymore opinion. Paying $305 to ride the track day and the twilight is just excessive.
I am sorry to hear the twillight guys sessions were cut short because of the red flags. That sucks too.
Ken

i dont understand your gripe with the twilight session... its a good way to get more people on track while not losing any tracktime or having to raise fees.

I agree with Ken. Yeah it's not TPM's fault the track was a mess but maybe getting there the night before or earlier that morning, the situation could have been resolved sooner. Starting at 9:30 should have meant riding til 5:30 shouldn't it? I've never had a bad thing to say about TPM and maybe it's the new track but I've never had so few sessions before. The idea of the twilight session is cool as hell, but it shouldn't take away from the full day and so far it seems to be.

Everyone was at Beaver the day before, Mario and I only got there at around 1am and that's with passing Glen and the TPM truck pretty early in the trip.

I was surprised to see you and Mario out there, didn't think anyone would be a no show, guess the waiting list isn't such a bad idea

First of all the track staff doesn't allow anyone on the track until a certain time. When the TPM team set out to setup the cones they noticed the dirt on the track and addressed it with the NJMP staff right away. Also we arrived at the track at about 6:20 am and Glen already working with the NJMP staff to get things started. Besides the NJMP staff arrived on site in the morning, they are not there all night even if we can get in to camp the night before.
This is the way all tracks run, we arrive at the same time as the track staff. Same issues happened at VIR Patriot recently with speedy dry on the track for the day before. We addressed when the track opened as the TPM team set out to put the cones out and it was fixed before the first bike rolled on to the track. This was transparent to the riders that were there and is what we do at all track before most of you get there.
I used to arrive at Pocono at 5:30 or 6am and get in with the staff and start to setup the track. This meant cleaning all the friggin worms off the track and digging whole to displace the water on the track and pickup the garbage for the event the day before. This on a track that has been open for years so a new track that currently under construction and a staff that has never run a track before all add unknown time delays and add equipment breaking makes for a very long morning.

I was pre-registered, but Mario said that 2-3 guys from each group on the wait list got in. Definitely surprising as I think pretty much everyone Mario asked before signing the list said there wasn't a chance of him getting in.
