The plan was for the coaches to ride during the riders meeting but the track needed to be cleaned off and the track sweeper was busted, so they did what they could. Once the track was clear NJMP needed laps to video tape some bikes, non TPM members, on the track. As for the twilight, that was done at Lighting too so it's not anything new.

Twilight riders pay almost what you paid for your day. This option is there to cover the cost of the track rental vs running 4 groups. Also a survey was sent to members asking about options, like this for NJMP.

I'm also curious if the will end at 4:"fn"30.....

By this rationale, both the day riders and the twilight riders both had to pay nearly the same with neither getting a full track day...not cool.

As per the TPM track manual, Track days run from 9am to 5pm. 8:30-4:30 is the same thing so it is a full track day.

If there is a situation like too many red flags or a spill cleanup then there is less track time. Stuff like this happens and it's part of the game.

The key part of that statement is "the game"

Back in February it was probably set up for 4 groups. Later because of complaints the survey was sent out and just like an election, majority rules. TPM is trying to find the best solution. As for other clubs I can't way how or why they set their prices. Others are cheaper because TPM is high, simple sales tactics, same with gas prices.

Twilight riders had 3 red flags and 3 stops for breaks so there time was cut too.

TPM tries to be fair but sometimes it does work out.

comparing accidents to planning is not a good analogy IMHO

It was a reference to time on the track not the accidents.

It wasn't TPM's fault the track wasn't clear. I would like to know how a facility like NJMP can have their sweepers "break" right before their second opening day and have all that shit all over the track. It was not very confidence inspiring to see all the dirt kicked up from tires especially in turn 5 (I think, the right hander after the short straight). I would also have liked to try a different line between turns 1 and 2 but there was only one clear line and I wasn't about to start going wide where all the dirt was being pushed.

The analogy fits... No one plans to crash or dump fluids on the track. Just like TPM nor the track planned to have an equipment failure.

they should've brought a fire truck out there and washed all the dirt off. it would've dried in a few minutes. regarding the sweepers breaking, i was talking to a guy who deals with heavy equipment - he said these type of places don't always buy "new" to save some money so it very feasible for equipment to break at any time. regardless, all that dirt on the track was ghey.

Maybe they should lower their electric fee if they don't feel it's necessary to buy new equipment to maintain the track.

You right of course and I'll accept you logic since my "opinion" is only just that.
