I did one of those days last year at Thunderbolt, and while I did get a ton of riding in, there was a car that decided to lay oil onto the track for about 100yds. They also hit the dirt a lot, which put debris onto the track. The TPM site says they will do an inspection after each car session, but we all know what that means...

personally i think its a bad idea, but I guess they have to do what they have to do. I thought most people didnt like the car/bike days.

Who cares, it's not that big of a deal. If you don't like it, just don't sign up for those days. It looks like all that stuff will be at NJMP anyway so I don't have to worry about it

I have decided, since I've NEVER ridden with another club, to ride with whichever club is convienient for me. I really like the coaches, staff and safety (up until this point) of TPM, but I will not be penalized for liking to ride on weekdays. I will be loyal to my desires and the desires of my friends regardless of anyones "definition" of "team". Business is business and I feel that the owner of any business has the right to do as he or she see's fit to improve their product in the way that seems best to them. I, as a consumer, tend to be loyal ....up to a certain point. When I see that the product being offered to me is not what it once was.... I will spend my money where it does the most for me..... I have not left TPM.... they have just envited me to expand my options to other providers by their choices...
sad thing is that I, given the choice, would have stayed happily TPM only.

Go to Calabogie with Pro6... you can spend your entire week riding instead of working.

I'd love to... but its not worth the risk of Calabogie telling me my bike doesn't pass the sound db check

It's gettin tough!!! Real tough to be in the track day business and stay in the black. TPM polled it's membership and the one thing people wanted over anything else was more weekend dates. Plus the fact that most of the weekday dates last year were losers. I am not privy to the books but I know TPM cant survive another year like last year. So dates that have been losers were scrapped.
When the ecomony was good and people were spending money it didnt seem to matter. If you rented the track they would come. That has changed drastically. Started in '07 and really hit home in '08.
Keep in mind that summit main may still appear on the schedule. If it does it will most likely be on mondays.
So take the oportunity to ride with whomever fits your schedule. Hopefully in the future well get those weekdays back.
