Just a thought..
How many of you would be willing to commute over bridges or drive through tunnels built by unskilled labor?
Just imagine if this gets off the ground, the money that will be wasted simply having to build everything twice.

Scary that this is even being proposed.

I'd be scared already! A lot of major bridges and tunnels across the country are in need of major rehabilitation. Besides that people tend to forget water/sewer and utilities as well.

I'd say things are looking to get off the ground already, its a saturday and I'm here at work cause now we're pushing to get some projects out before the state funding deadline march. I can't complain, overtime is always a good thing!

I agree with you, overtime is what pays for toys and fun.

Sad thing is, if the proposal gets through, skilled people lie yourself would be excluded from peforming re-construction or new construction projects simply because you're not a minority, a woman and because you have an education.
its crazy.

ken the 2 projects I am working at now are for rebuilding the citys infrastructure being water filtration and uv treatment plants. this stuff requires skilled laborers and the DEP wont take any half as scontractors anymore to do these jobs. They seem to like the work skanska does so I hope they will keep bringing in highly skilled labor for these projects.

I agree that the roads and bridges are also in need of upgrades/replacemtnt too. I hope some of the money goes to that to get it done right and not half assed.

So whatever $$ that is set to go into rebuilding roads will NOT go into creating jobs. The $ will just go to UNION labor which is overpriced to say the least.
