IMO, it doesn't and shouldn't matter if you have "chicken strips" on your tire. That shouldn't be an indicator to determine if you are or aren't a good rider. Too many people get hung up on that.
The golden rule should always be: Ride your own pace and never, NEVER try to keep up with someone!
The street is a very dangerous place. Throw in the idea that you have to lean the bike over to get rid of those dreaded chicken strips only adds to the danger. The only place to safely work on reducing those strips is at the track.
Everyone has there own learning curve so don't fret. Just my .02
Hope to see you at the track next season!

chicken strips dont mean shit...
i got em and so what....
when i went on the lobster ride i wsa right behind a few people going the same speed and they would divein to the turn a bit later and get the bike all the way down.. i was right behind them same speed only i started to dip a bit ealrier and didn tneed to go as low. chicken strips odnt mean shit. ride and enjoy it.. i migh tnot be able to dragg a knee or do a wheelie but i have fun on a bike and tryto keep up with me in NYC traffic and slicing thru cars.. ... try it my ol dbike had asquare tire cause all i did was rool around the city and shit in between cars ..
one day ill make it to the track an dmaybe get rid of my chicken strips but fo rnow its about staying alive on the streets so irather be the guy with chciken strips and alive than the guy with no chickens strips but inthe hospital..

I dragged the left peg at Pocono. It was, um, startling.

Ooooh you shouldn't have Rev... you making me blush now...
After a few incidents... you will be forced to learn to ride your own pace! But let's not get to that point to learn that...

Riders some times do this on purpose, so they can lean more.

Hmmm... splitting lanes gives you a better chance of staying alive than going hard into corners... interesting concept...
