I would NEVER buy new OEM forks from the factory. Either ebay or like you said, after market.
If you buy used, and have a chance to inspect them, a good test to make sure they are not bent is roll them on a piece of glass. Take them apart and roll the sliders and pistons on the glass to make sure they aren't tweaked. The sliders usually don't bend, they will crack. the pistons are what tends to bend vs. break in a wreck. -

Also check for faint grooves on the tubes by running the edge of your fingernail around the major area of travel.

Ya know what i find rediculous?
The fact that you can purchase a brand new frame for my bike from Ron Ayers for $700 i believe but forks are like $1200. Wow...

thanks thats what i figured it shoudl run me..
i am really debating getting an 06 1000rr but needs forks, and plastic..
so i am just trying to see how much it woudl run me toget it back into shape..

There could be a few reasons. The frame is a simple chuck of aluminum that Kawi welds up in house.
The forks are sources from Kayaba which also has more intricacies inside of it. Probably takes a lot more time to fabricate all the pieces and assemble a set of forks than it takes a machine to cut, bend and weld up a few aluminum castings for a frame.
