Winters here up in the NE can definitely put a damper on rackin up the miles...well for me anyway...45-50* is my cut off. My new street ride is bout 4 months old...but I put 11K on my original 01 gix in the first year I had it...

And what about people who buy new bikes?
We folks here in the NE aren't blessed with warm weather year-round, which puts a bit of a squeeze on our riding time.

I personally am not a rider that uses the bike as a means of transportation. I use the bike soley as a toy, and ride it for the ride itself and never just to go somewhere. Its a hassle to get my bike out, with the set up I have, that I only take it out for the sake of riding. Otherwise, I am fine driving my car. So, the miles on the bike are pretty much just from weekend rides that I do with this group or that group.

I probably would've been close to that by the end of this season if I didn't go down, I was planning on riding alot this year. The thing I loved about that motor is it's pretty much bomb-proof, all ya have to do is change the oil. I've read many cases of guys putting hundreds of thousands of miles on that motor without any problems. Honda really did their homework with that one, it was one of the best sport touring motors on the market.

Almost 900 on mine and it isn't even 2 months old.
Put 3000 on my katana before I decided to get the ZZR.
Oh and I ride all of the time, started riding this year as soon as the snow melted in March. Last year I wintered the bike in November
