my philosophy is: go with quality over quantity. who cares how loud they are if its not enhancing your bike's performance. because lets face it - if its all about sound you can just pull the shit out of your stock pipes and theyll be loud as hell.

I am running dual yosh RS3's sounds deep and when the r's are up it barks pretty loud but not annoying loud

And really all loud pipes does is piss off the locals and then that brings a increased police presence to riding areas. All loud pipes do is announce to everyone within in shot that "I'M GOING REALLLLLLLLLLY FAST" or at least sounds like you are.

Loud pipes are part of the problem. This is the kinda thing we have to try and control or we will be dealing with noise regs like the crazy ones in europe right now.

Yep, DON'T go with a D&D , all pipes are louder than stock but if you want performance, big names, Micron, Yosh, Akra etc. They give smoother power curves etc.

Buy aftermarket Akros carbon fiber, then cut them in half. Loud and quality.

I've heard a few new Gix & Yami 6's running with the stock shortie pipes, they sound great and they're loud enough as it is.
