Run linux... or slowlaris, problem solved. Then no AV software, comes with AV, and if you select the right distro (rh, suse, ubuntu, etc..) then you can surf the web no problem and have most of the conveniences of running windows with only a slightly different look...

Just throw the computer out the window. That should do the trick.

Der Vin...I'm talking about global setting for your file extensions on your PC in general, not changing the actual file's extension, we all know that does no good...ya know...go into your folder options, file types tab...modify these...like i said, same idea as re-assoc. file extension to application..you're option didn't take both .jpg and .jpeg into account...so, simply saying...you can add and/or modify with my solution. Get it now? maybe it wasn't completely clear what I was getting at.

Yes, that'll work. But you weren't clear initially.

If you click "Choose Program" you can elect to have the program become the default program.
As to how it got like that, even small modifications (or opening/running other applications) to a Windows-based OS can cause some file types to become disassociated with their original or chosen applications.

Nice, back to normal...well, my computer is anyway. Thanks sir.

Marker, keep an eye out at gotapex dot com, they list all the specials for manufacturers like Dell, where you can usually get a PC for close to $500 with free shipping and a 19" flat panel monitor. My suggestion is to make sure you get Pentium, and not Celeron.

Anyway... try something for me. I'll even do the first bits for your, I'll burn a few DVD's of linux live cd's - its an entire linux distribution (the operating system plus all the applications) on a CD or DVD. You don't even install it - it runs off the CD/DVD. I bet you'll find it easier.
Plus, no worries about the midget porn!
