I'm looking for the same bike but wrecked. Hopefully I can pick it up for like $1000, change the VIN's, and that's $2000 profit.

well, if you're a dumbass and leave the bike unlocked... espcially a ducati.
i had a crappy katan and always left it locked to something.
if he actually had it secured and it got stolen then damn that sucks. but if he left it out one night because he was lazy
HAH TO HIM.

I mean the thought crosses my mind but if I am at Pub 199 for instance or a spot where I cant see it, would I be too petro if kept getting up to go check up on the bike? I sometimes wondered about that and just gave it the benifit of the doubt...but it sure would suck to come out one day and see her gone!!!

Bike security is never too extreme, just depends on what precautions you intend to deal with on a daily basis.
I find it hard to believe that someone can park a bike where it can be seen at all times, every time. Of course everyone tries to make an effort to park as close to their field of view as possible, but so is every other biker out there in turn making it difficult to do at times.
A bike shouldn't become a headache, it's a luxary item meant to be enjoyed throughout the ride/day. One should be able to park their bike out of view, lock it up and enjoy their meal or activity without having to worry about the bike being stolen every 10 seconds. Unfortunately bike theft is just part of owning a bike, every rider must accept the fact that one day it could happen to them, but don't let it control your life.

Well i pretty much only lock my bike good where i store it. I do the usual check to make sure nobody followed me home and what not, even take different routes some times. But after that its locked in a garage with bike lock and all.
But when it comes to it getting stolen in public, i just don't ride it anywhere i can't see it. Like the mall or something. I know people wouldn't do shit if they saw someone grab my bike and throw it in a van. Nobody cares anymore, so if i go out with the bike its always parked where i can watch it the whole time.

Because of thefts like that, I won't bring a sportbike to anyplace I can't keep an eye on it.
