Personally, I think it would be better if we would be allowed to ride until 6PM and not have to pay $125 in additional fees just to ride past 4:30 on the day we already paid full track fees for.
I have Platinum membership and paid $180 to ride for the day months ago. Since making my reservation months in advance there's a recent format change shortening my track day and asking for an additional $125 to ride 30 minutes past the end of a normal 6PM track day??? Doesn't add up to something I would call a "deal".

I would hope that you'd still get your full day in with 3 groups running during the day. I'd prolly rather shut down at 4:30 than to run 4 groups.
For the twilight group, which I would assume will mostly be different riders than during the daytime...its open track for two hours.
I like that I wouldnt have to use up a full vacation day to attend it and that it will be red/blue.

The only times they've extended the time to 6 for me has been if they were running 4 groups.

Exactly. I've always thought every trackday was 9 - 6pm, unless it got DARK enough before 6pm where visibility was a safety concern.

I sent an email to Marc Frank to see what TPM says about my complaint. I will post what they respond with.

When I first started trackdays, I remember seeing some guys start to pack up about 4:45PM. I asked the TPM guys if they're shutting down soon. I am 99% sure it was Glen who replied that they always go to 6pm unless it was too dark to ride and wondered why he gets this question so much.
If they're going to cut an hour off our day, they should just come out and say that..instead of saying the normal day is "9-5".

Trackdays normally run from 9-5. Anytime we run past 5 additional time was purchased. We usually run till 6 at pocono but we run 4 groups at pocono alot too. At summit we run till 5 but on occasion the additional hour was purchased due to excessive delays (crashes, or a lunchtime race).
TPM's official end time for a trackday is 5pm. Allways has been.

The day is typically 9-5. Pocono is 9-6. For whatever reason, NJMP wants us to run 8:30-4:30. I think the Twilight idea is to get people who couldn't sign in for the day to ride. I believe it's open track for 2.5 hrs.

I'm confused(no surprise there LOL.) If NJMP wants the day to end at 4:30, how is the twilight thing even an option?

I'd go to the twilight thing if there was some way to refuel the bike without stopping... like a low altitude tanker.
2 1/2 straight hours of track time... that's about 121 laps.
oh how my back would be hurt coming out of the bowl
