00000000 on getting a dirtbike. I logged thousands of miles in the woods, on trails and on the MX track before I ever got on a street bike. And I was a pretty darn good rider right from the start because of all of the dirt experience. Learning the front/rear brake bias takes a little adjustment but I can still hop on a MX bike and slide the rear, then hop back on my R1 and not touch the rear brake.

Either way, def worth considering a cheap dirtbike off craigslist or whatever.
