That doesn't sound like a clutch problem at all. If you can launch hard from a stop then you're clutch is fine.

Also, if you do change the clutch, you don't need to take the basket off. Just take the plates out from behind the pressure plate which is like 5 screws.

If you don't do wheelies and burnouts, a clutch could last the life of a bike actually. And clutch plates ARE solid steel.
