I actually got them when they were $89 shipped before the price went up. I've had them for over 2 years now of very frequent use and no issues at all. Never heard from anyone else on GDC that had any issues with them failing.
When I get home I'll take a good close look at them under good light to see if there is any fatigueing. Perhaps you got a dud  |
Not exactly sure what brand he said they were, but I definitely remember the story due to what "almost happened." Might of been Handy Stands, but I can't say for sure. I know he said they were $100 for the set. I'm sure there are other brands that will hold up and do a good job, I just don't have any experience with anything other than PitBull.
