As if the situation couldn't get
any worse, I just found out that I probably won't be able to get my car back for at least another week.
Being that my car is a late model year, no Toyota dealership can code a key for me. I have to have a whole new ECU installed
Toyota offers a 1 time goodwill program where they will pick up the cost of the ECU, but I will have to pay for labor, keys and new remote. I also have to wait 3-5 business days before the part even arrives at the dealer.
Until then, I have to rent a car
The damage?
Car rental = $46.95 per day for 7 days appx. $300
Labor cost = $450 for parts, keys, remote, coding
Total pain and anguish: Priceless
I have to cancel Beaverun next weekend too
