The helmets in question (CL series) are Snell certified. The CS (cheapest HJC full face product line) series are DOT only and were never approved for racing to begin with.

I am interested in the specifics of the crashes as well.

HJC is reportedly used by more riders at the track than other makes, so the numbers should support that a similar percentage of accidents/trauma occured in these helmets.

Louden is targeted the "plastic" shell helmets, not HJC CL series specifically.

I was under the impression that the outer shell did more to protect the head in the event of sliding and sharp impact and not blunt force, which is the job of the foam.
