As Chris said you still have to try and be smooth about it. We all know that tiny movements can upset bikes but some just do it less than others. I tend to like it and others do not. I do not think that it makes the world of difference but to me it does give that little bit that I was looking for.

Another way to get used to the whole gp shift thin in your mind is to think about it like this:

In life when you want to go faster or pick up the pace you PUSH yourself to go faster and when you want to slow down you pull back. Upshift = push, downshift = pull.

That is the logic I used when I first switched and it worked for me. Easy enough for you to make the flip on your bike Cakes. Give it a try and if you do not like it take the 1 minute to put it back to Std.
