Dyno chart observation: Regarding smooth lines on the horsepower and torque chart the Yami was by far the worst with lots of dips at certain revs. It may have more peak horsepower than the others, but it's underpowered compared to the rest all the way thru the tach just before it peaks.

You're right, it's basically a street legal track bike.

basically what the readings say are that almost none of the bikes tach's are not accurate, except the cbr. at redline
most of them are at least 1k off . but anyways, i always heard that tach's don't have to be spot on juts the speedo's do. in cars and bikes. but i may be wrong, who knows

CBRBob 06-08-2006 10:14 PM

Nope, most bikes speedometers are off up to 7%. They will read faster than what you are actually doing. Thats why they sell 'speedohealers'. I Used a GPS to measure my XX and my truck. Interestingly enough. Bother are off by 3% across the board. Close enough to leave alone. At 65mph they read 63mph.

The motorcycle is spectacular. :)

what i dont get is why everyone is so wrapped up in the tach errors even though speedos are always innacurate. maybe its cause yamaha basically tried to sell the new r6 on the fact that it supposedly revved to 17.5?
