Hopefully I will be proven wrong and only good things will come from this election...

CBRBob 11-05-2008 10:12 AM

Don't know how being robbING hood will do positive things. It will only further divide the country. Remember, there is a totally D controlled govt. now.

 I know!!!

I don't support his vision for the country - a vision of socialism that will ultimately erode the capitalist tradition that has made us the envy of the world. Socialism is based on altrusim and self sacrifice. From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. I don't recognize the "needs" of Obama's constituencies, not the unions, the trial lawyers, ANY of them.

Mark this day. I fear we are headed to an era where mediocrity will reign over ability. Where the collective will be more important than the individual. Sigh...

REVOLUTION

FDNYDANO18 11-05-2008 12:38 PM

Well.... looks like I'll be quitting my side job... I wont work on the books so I can give it all back in taxes... I may not be the brightest bulb, but I know not to work for free.

Mark well how your life is now, today, and see where we are at in 12 to 24 months....

And for all those who "believe" that the President elect will "moderate his "ideas and positions" when he is in power".... don't count on it. "Change" really does mean change.

He WILL raise your taxes.

He WILL possess your 401K and roll it into "social Security"... for your protection from the opertunity of the "Market".

He WILL do his level best to eviserate "the evils of capitalism" from the United States.
This will DESTROY OUR ECONOMY AS WE KNOW IT.
It is in the plan
You,we get the Government you deserve.....well done
enjoy.

Pocket "Change" for everyone.

I voted for Obama because like most Americans I trust lawyers more than
anyone else; I think only lawyers should run the government, and all the
Democrat Leaders are lawyers: Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, John
Edwards, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Leader Harry Reid, Bill
Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry, to name just a few. (Al Gore
dropped out of Law School, so I don't trust him as much, except on Global
Warming.)

I voted for Obama because the Democrats support the trial lawyers and I
think this country needs more lawsuits and less tort reform. And I don't
believe the trial lawyers' contributions have a thing to do with it.

I voted for Democrats because Congress has done such a wonderful job under
Democrat leadership the last two years, that I want a lot more of the same.

I voted for Obama because I want to get my health care from the same
competent, efficient, cost-effective, customer-service-focused folks who
run the US Post Office, the Pentagon, FEMA, DMV and our school systems.

I voted for Obama because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I
know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and
thieves.

I voted for Obama because Sen. Obama has promised to cut the taxes of 95%
of the people, including the 30% who don't pay taxes.

I voted for Obama because Sen. Obama has promised to take away the secret
ballot in union elections, and I think the union bosses should know if a
workingman or woman is with them, or against them.

I voted for Obama because Sen. Obama has over three years experience in
the Federal Government, and "Hope" is a great strategy.

I voted for Obama because he voted "present" instead of "yes" or
"no" over 120 times in the Illinois State Senate, and I think we need a
decisive president.

I voted for Obama because I think that drilling for American oil is
foolish, when we can buy oil from the Middle East.

I voted for Obama because I think windmills are a
better answer to reliable, clean energy than Nuclear Energy.

I voted for Obama because I don't think we give enough to other countries
in foreign aid. The Global Poverty Act sounds GREAT. I want to donate .7%
of our ENTIRE GDP to the UN.

I voted for Obama because I'm for putting up barriers to free trade, as
they did in 1930 with the Smoot-Hawley bill. That made things much better
then.

I voted for Obama because I miss the high unemployment, inflation and
interest rates of the Jimmy Carter years.

I voted for Obama because parents shouldn't get to choose the school
their kids go to. Parents should leave their children's education to the
teachers and stay out of it.

I voted for Obama because I think this is the perfect time to raise the
Capital Gains tax and drive investment money out of the stock market.

I voted for Obama because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a
gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas
at 15% isn't.

I voted for Obama because I believe the government will do a better job
of spending the money I earn than I would, and I want to spread my wealth
around to those who earn less-or nothing.

I voted for Obama because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is
offended by it.

I voted for Obama because, when we pull out of Iraq, I trust that the bad
guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.

I voted for Obama because I believe that people who can't tell us if it
will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in
ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

I voted for Obama because I'm not concerned about restoring partial birth
abortions so long as we keep all death row murderers alive.

I voted for Obama because I believe that small businesses should not be
allowed to make a profit. They need to break even and give the rest away to
the government for redistribution to people who didn't start businesses.

I voted for Obama because I believe the law is what judges say it is, and
not what legislators say -- or the constitution.

I voted for Obama because the media would call me a racist if I didn't.

Not sure how this is all going to pan out.

Tom

High_Revs_17 11-05-2008 10:46 PM

It won't even take a year, we'll find out moments after he's sworn in on January when Russia starts pushing his buttons, or shall I say, our buttons, then we'll see how well he talks his way out of it, along with and shortly followed by the terrorists, Iran, China, Korea, etc...they're already standing in line.
