98 Honda CBR 900rr

With 8000 miles, cracked motor case but will get a good one with the purchase of the bike all for $600
I do not have any experience with this year and model, so I'm asking you guys if you know of or had experience with this bike and your thoughts, opinions, suggestions.
Is it a decent bike, not for track use. It's for my brother and he isn't an aggressive rider (yet)
The cracked case at 8k has me a little turned off.

What do you think?

I've never ridden one so I can't give any first hand info. I do know the 900rr was the stunter's choice back then, so they can take abuse. What other bike(s) has he ridden?

bike has some torque punch...pretty bulky for some people, similar to the F4i...all depends on if he likes to flick around bikes! motor wise...it's pretty damn solid!

It's a honda...
POS!

what cracked the case? If the motor took a good shot on either side, the crank may have moved and can cause a bearing failure shortly after.

I have ridden my cousins, pimpout fully chromed and polished, 96 900rr and
I can tell you that bike pulled strong as F&%* from first twist to release.
In the turns, you gotta man handle em..... not like a busa, but enough to
make you pay attention. Oh and my cousin is still running..... LOL.
