Who else is definitely in for VIR Paul? My buddy Bear from GDC (not sure you met him this past year) want to do VIR those days as well.



The 4/23 day is a Combo, and I convinced one of the high ups in my company who has wanted to take his car to the track to come do a day, and he's all gung ho for it now. So mayb sign up for that one if he's down for it. Not sure about 5/17, but 6/18 is a GP Moto round and assuming the rest of crew doesn't want to do VIR that weekend I should be down for that one since there's no June or August CCS rounds I'm going to try to hit as many GP Moto races as I can.

Sounds good Kaz, Im not sure who is defnate for VIR other then nick and myself. I think that Vic, John, and Ian will try and go but haven't heard anything yet.

i can't commit to vir yet right now. Gotta see how much the bike is going to cost me to get it up and running. Hopefully they can straighten out the forks for fairly cheap.

Well, we stayed for 3 nights. Drove down/stayed 1st night, rode 1st day/stayed 2nd night, rode 2nd day/stayed 3rd night..........then drove home the next morning. None of us were in the mood for a 9 hour drive into the middle of the night after 2 full days at VIR.

Anyway, last year 5 of us stayed in the 1 villa and it worked out to $200 a head. It looks like the price went up this year, so 3 nights (Sat-Mon) is $1122. So that's $225 a head for 3 night. In all honesty you could easily fit another person in there, maybe 2. There's 3 bedrooms and no one was even sleeping on the couch or used any airmatresses, everyone had their own bed.

But....

If you look at the rates for the rooms above the paddock garages. They are double rooms, so for 3 nights 2 people per room that works out to $187. Personally I can tell you this, I would GLADLY pay $40 extra to have the villa. You've got a big full kitchen, laundry room for cleaning your grungy shit after the first day, nice couch and sitting area, outside deck, 2 full baths, plus an extra crapper.........$40??? no brainer to me.


Assuming 2 garage bays for 2 days is an extra $400......thats $80 per head for 5 people.


So $300 all in for 3 nights in the villa and garages both days for 5 people as an example. And extra person or two would offset a bit.

NCBIKE is about the same distance from here at VIR. So it's going to have to be an amazing track to sway me there since I've only been to VIR once and I LOVED IT. But since it's inteded to be a car proving ground/test facility and not a racetrack (and to my knowledge no bikes have actually ridden on it yet) I'll have to wait and see what the general consensus is on it first.

when do you guys need to know by? I wanna see how much this bike thing is costing me. Forks should be shipped to rob on tuesday. So hopefully he'll let me know how much i owe him by end of feb. I'm still a little rusty from my last get off. Hopefully working forks/suspension will allow me to go faster.

whatever it is kaz, count me in lol. but as of right now im using my brother in laws truck, traveling by myself as of right now.

I have no idea how we are all getting there yet. Will figure it out so i guess. Depends on Ian and Vic. John you still have access to a trailer ? how big if so? Kaz how many bikes can you fit? I am close to you so might make sense for our bikes to go together. We need a conference call....LOL

We can put a gchat together.. that will work.. Pick a time and a date we can figure this out in ten minutes..

OK, so latest development as of this afternoon......


My other 2 buddies Bear and Paul (guy I got the 600 from) will be coming along. The 3 of us will be using a friends trailer to bring our 3 bikes. So we just need to figure out how the room and board is going to work. These guys said they want to leave on Monday right after we finish which isn't what I wanted to do, but if I'm not the one driving then I guess I don't care, I'll just pass out in the back of the truck.

I don't think they are keen on the idea of doing 7 people in a villa, so we'll see how that works out.

The other thing that I noticed is that when I put in the dates of 3/31-4/2 in on the website it doesn't give me the full villa as being available. It only says the paddock rooms or the junior suit (which is only 1 of the 2 floors of the villa).

So I dunno, maybe we might have to settle for the paddock rooms this time around? Wouldn't be the end of the world I suppose. The other thing is......who out of everyone here (Nick, John, Paul, Jim) needs power in the garage? Each garage can handle 3 sets of warmers. I know the 3 of us each use them. You guys?

We would still have enough people to get a villa without Kaz and his 2 friends. Me, Paul, Ian, John and Jim. 4 of us use tire warmers so we would still need 2 garages which makes the total the same as it was before minus Kaz and his friends. Sorry kaz that your two friends are coming and thank you for the idea of getting a villa.

So bottom line for us is who is DEFINITELY in for VIR 2 days, villa and a garage?

When we get there, or even beforehand, we'll talk to the reservations people and try to get all 3 of our bays lined up since they're oriented in bunches of 3, then a wall

cant swing the days off with work, wish I knew sooner, I would have planned better. I need to put my er days in for april tomorrow so what njmp days you guys planning and are there any summit days worth going to?

Here it is....we are staying at this house 15 mins from vir. Im trying to get the guy to let us leave late on monday so that we can go back and shower before the ride home. There should be some more room so bowler if you need a place let me know.
