Sunday October 12, 2008 looks to be a good day to check out a TREBUCHET.
In case you don't know, that's something similar to a catapult that the
medieval armies used to throw large rocks (and other things) at each other.
You may have seen one of these things on a Discovery or History Channel show.
Now you can see a smaller version right here in NJ, and it'll be throwing PUMPKINS....
MEET TIME: 9:30 AM STANDS UP: 10:00 AM
MEET PLACE: EXXON STATION at EXIT 33 off of Route 78 (Martinsville Road)
(Several other rides have started there over the past few years)
When you get to the Exxon, FILL UP. NO EXCUSES.
PACE: Casual Cruise, maybe a bit over the limit at times, but I don't want any tickets...
All are welcome, and everyone will be able to keep up.
Destination: Trebuchet Location and then on to Krogh's Restaurant in Sparta for a late lunch.
After lunch the ride will continue back to the Exxon station.
This is a picture of the trebuchet, it's about 30 feet tall.
