I have signed petitions for some time now over the interweb and not sure if it made a difference or not but its always worth a shot.

From the Drudge Report, Friday, May 30th:

'Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less' campaign continues to gain momentum

WASHINGTON, May 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- American Solutions for Winning the Future announced today that more than 100,000 Americans have now signed a petition urging Congress to immediately start drilling for oil domestically to ease gas prices. The petition is part of the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" campaign American Solutions launched last week.

The petition reads:
"We, therefore, the undersigned citizens of the United States, petition the U.S. Congress to act immediately to lower gasoline prices by authorizing the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries."

Next week, American Solutions will deliver the signatures, gathered from citizens in all 50 states, to the U.S. Senate as a first step toward stopping the destructive Warner-Lieberman bill which would raise the cost of gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil, and aviation fuel.

So you didnt realize that artificially inflating the price of gas wasnt done intentionally just for this purpose?

Dont get me wrong, I'm all for domestic drilling but gouging the country to get your way is criminal!!!!!

Damn Americans! Most of the rest of the world has been paying 2-4x what we pay for gas for years. Other than some of the countries whose governments subsidized gas prices (and none of these countries you'd really want to live in) the price fo gas in the US is "reasonable".

Two other options would be to just stop complaining or try buying vehicles that get better than 20MPG.

Cheers!

I thought motorcycles were supposed to get good mileage, but I'm lucky if I got 20 mpg at VIR! :nopity:

My 636 on the street gets 34-36MPG (street) on a good day.. When the exhaust went haywire it actually dropped to 30-32... 36 for that XX is better than I woould have expected.

The rental I have over here (UK) is getting about 42MPG. Seems like the majority of cars over here have engines smaller than 2.0L, and diesel is abundant. Yesterday I am pretty sure I even saw (heard) a diesel Civic.

Diesel Civic, ey?

I think most of the cars in Europe are offered with a diesel option... I'll try to rent me one when I head over next month... or perhaps a VW TDI... hmm, decisions... decisions! :P

Here's a great towing option.

The car is only towing the little trailer and the Duc not the larger one in the background.
