Just picked up a new pair of skates...had to retire the old goalie skates. All sharp and ready for open skate at the Ice Vault in Wayne tomorrow. :jam2:

Been 15 yrs easy since I seriously skated...I see me catchin an edge tryin to power stop and totally high siding myself :roflmao:

Yup, definitely...great source of cardio as well. On a side note, places like Sports Authority and Dick's Sporting Goods absolutely suck for anything hockey. Huge areas dedicated to football, baseball, and basketball...go to look for skates and theres like 2-3 pair shoved in a corner somewhere. Had to go to the pro shop at a rink where there was tons to choose from.

Wow...hit up my first open skate session in literally 15yrs or so, a bit rusty and I think I'm still out of breath :lol: Felt real good to lace up and get back out though. Regular skates took a bit of getting used to as opposed to my old goalie skates. Blade is much shorter and the skate itself sit up higher. Definitely looking to hit up open session a few times a week.

No AST Basic available? The worst is getting lapped during open session by 12 year old seasoned hockey players chasing after each other.

Yea, there were a few mid-teen kids rippin it up...reminder of myself when I was there age...as a goalie I never had to go anywhere :roflmao:

Nice joe.. I picked up a pair a few weeks ago myself but havent been out to try them yet.. Was going to go yesterday for open skating session, but it was just too nice to spend it indoors...

SBA open hockey sounds good to me, but I need a lot of practice ice skating.. I've been playing roller hockey for years, and the transition back to ice is hard.

Still have the rest of your goalie gear? :)
