anyone have blue cross blue sheid of nj? Just want to know becasue i got a letter from them and it says some jerkoff got their laptop stolen and it had my personal infomration on it. and that they are giving me a comp membership to a credit monitor service. but the thing is i am kinda skeptical about it like if this letter is bullshit and they are going to steal my information when i go to the website. Just want to know if anyone else got a letter like that

Sounds like a scam but call the customer service line to make sure it isnt.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield through my employer and neither one of us was informed about this theft of personal information. Hmm...sounds like a scam.

Though it doesn't seem like a total scam to me either, that credit report website looks shady to me. Like one of those free 30 day trial ones then a monthly charge of $49.99 without us telling you.

Forget checking any websites, call the customer service # listed on the back of your members id card and ask to speak with a supervisor about your concerns on this issue. If this is true, then Horizon, a company that prides themselves on personal security and confidentiality, just allowed themselves to be exposted to a major HIPAA violation.

Audrey and I both have Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield and we didnt recieve any letter.
