I prefer LCD i have the sharp aquos 42 hdlcd 1080p that was like 2000 mid last year. Go to 6th ave sometimes you can chew them down a little if you know what you are doing...

Dude, my 42" Hitachi Plasma is the bomb! Buy the tv during Holiday specials...I'm sure they have something coming up for Presidents Day!

What's the difference between LCD and Plasma? I have this argument with my father in law every time TV's come up. The only thing I can find that a plasma does better than an LCD is the dark blacks are richer on plasma.

I heard if you play a lot of video games on the tv LCD is a better unit, less chance to burn the screen. But that is just what I heard

Any particular reason you want to get it from best buy? I try to avoid them like the plague, they've screwed me a few times. Here is a link that I use for quick comparison shopping to check price points, but cheap isn't always better: http://www.google.com/products?q=TH-42PZ77U&btnG=Search+Products&hl=en

I'm getting a Visio whenever my current tv dies, or a mystery brick comes flying through my window and smashes it. Which ever comes first.
