Grabbed of the Wera board.

Lay the rumors to rest as its true Summit is getting a fresh surface. This is going to be weird as I knew where all the bumps were.

Just wait until the cars tear it up (again)....enjoy the first rides on that new surface fellas. I am jealous.

Anyone know if the other tracks there are also getting new pavement too or will it be just Summit Main?

Seems that it would be smart to let it cure after a repave before throwing cars on it a couple of days later.
Hopefully it rains for the cars!

does this mean the concrete patches will be going away? sure looks like it...

From whats being said, word is it's just these selected areas. We'll know on Monday :hyper:

From what I've read, the entire Main course is getting a 2 inch overlay. You guys who are going next week, let us know!

Edit: now that I read some more, it does seem to be just selected areas. Damn. At first I'd read it was the entire track. Oh well. Still an improvement.

I called Summit and Angie said that the entire Main course is being paved.
I hope she wasn't toying with me...She wouldn't do that, would she?:roflmao:

The pavement they use has a very quick cure time. Beaver and Calabogie were ridden and driven on shortly after the pavement was down.

I'll be there on Monday.

Took a ride over and holy crap....its amazing..almost brought a tear to ma eye...took a quick look at T9 and theres no curbing, dirt around the edges of the track. I'm guessing with the new 2" overlay they have to make new curbing. Dammit, is it Monday yet?

The new pavement was great, smooth and grippy, on line and off line. It's a new track where the condition of the track no longer dictates the line. Turn 1 changed the most with a really late entry and the apex is later. You can rail through the carousel with you knee on the deck the whole way. Turn 9 and 10 are really fast now.

I never looked forward to the late season Summit events but the 29th can't get here fast enough.

lol...got up out of the tent and see Bri in his car on his computer...bitching that it was cold. We had a small heater in the tent. But it was still cold...40 degrees when I got up
