i know this is a long shot, but here it goes. i'm looking for a track bike. don't really care what it is as long as it's somethin decent (as in something from this century and that is actually worthy of putting on a track). as far as condition goes wrecked is preferred as long as it doesn't need a frame or suspension, and the motor isn't completely hammered. now here's the kicker, i only got about a grand to spend maybe 1500. like i said i know it's a long shot, but if anyone knows of anything please let me know.

a long shot is right, you'll probably won't find anything within reason. I would say skip this year, and keep saving until next season. hopefully you will have enough money to get something around 4k.

Contact Mike see if he still has his gix, if he still has it I know he'll unload it for a good price.

I have a 96 zx6r that runs great. The plastics arent in great shape, and it needs new fork seals, but it used to be my track bike and runs fine. The start button is also missing. I don't recall any other problems.

It has a full exhaust and hasnt been jetted, so it hesitates, usually in the lower RPM ranges, which doesnt effect track riding.

Its in your price range.

Havent really been actively trying to sell this since I need to sell my 01 zx6r first. :)

I hope you have more money laying around to keep it going. Even if you only have $1500 to spend on the bike, gonna need alot more for tires, track fees, etc etc.

Also try www.cmraracing.com I just picked up an 03 636 fully set up with full exhaust, rearsets, scotts dampner and a bunch more for lets say well under 3k with only 4804 miles so keep looking and you may find something but saving up to get around $2500 will give you a lot more chances and options.

Joe is right. I have a GSX-R 600 that I will let go for $1,500.00 or $2,000.00 with a spare motor. Both motors have under 3,000 miles on them. It is a 2001. It has a PCIII USB, tre mod, quick turn throttle and a 750 swingarm and front end. No bodywork comes with the bike as that is now on my 750. I also have spares that can go along with this as well. I have a spare computer, two swingarms off of a 600, and misc. other parts as well.
