As with royal Caribbean Norweigen is more for the traveler who enjoys more formal dinning as well as an older crowd. They as well as most name brand cruise lines offer exceptional service as well as great places to visit. It all comes down to what kind of age group or enviroment you are looking for. If you are looking for more or a party seen Norweigen is not for you, but if you are looking for a more relaxing time or romantic time Norweigen is good. If I had to sum it up Norweigen is more formal then Royal Caribbean so if thats what your looking for its perfect. As with Carnival is more of a party boat thus the name "Fun ships"

Hope this helped

I heard from several people who took a cruise on Norwegian Dawn that they wouldn't ever do it again.

They said the restaurants (it's all "free-style" dining) were not as good as they hoped, the shows and programs sucked and the service was not as good as Royal Caribbean or Carnival.

Hey, at the end of the, it's all about preference ;)

I took the Norwegian Spirit on a 10 day Eastern Caribean in January from New York and it was totally awesome. It was my first cruise, so I would have been happy doing whatever, but either way it was a gorgous brand new ship and I had a great time.

From what I understand, the ships onboard activites were somewhat lacking when comapred to Carnival and Royal Carribean. Everynight there was some sort of theme at one of the clubs or bars, but not too much going on in between, and nothing crazy after 2am-ish. I was told that the other cruise lines are a non-stop bombardment of stuff to do while not at a destination, 24 hours a day.

The food totally rocked, in my opinion. It was the freestyle thing which I really liked. They had a rocking buffet available from like 630am-9pm, and 10 different restaraunts, all inclusive. Beer was extra of course, and it was like 5-6$ for Coronas. But the food quality in general everywhere was really good and the sushi place RULED.

The people were all super really nice, and all the room cleaning ladies were tiny beautiful Phillipinos. The cruise director was young and new, so thats how others justified to me the "not much to do on the boat" thing. My friends and I never had a dull moment, however though. You're still on a cruise ship with 34890 bars in the middle of the ocean and casinos, pools, brand new workout room, spa, jacuzzis, etc etc. The Spirit was generally a pretty classy boat, and while not as "fun" as other lines(from what I'm told), it was totally awesome and I had a really good time.
