Yes, A-Rod is doing good. Yes, the Yankees are doing good. Yes, I am a fan. However, once the Yankees win / loss record starts to affect my paycheck or other parts of my life personnally, is when I really start to care.

A-Rod is simply not a team player. That's why I don't like him. When he's doing poor, he blames other things instead of himself. When he makes a great play or has a great hit, he congratulates himself. He threw a hissy fit because he was batting 6th in the postseason. That's why I don't like him. Yankees are a great club because they play as a team. Not many teams do that, many of them are all about their allstars, and the ones who do, play great together. Look at the Red Sox, they do it too. That's why, like him or not, Jeter is a great choice for a team captain. Compliments his teammates, keeps the conversations to "we" and "us", and rarely talks about himself at all, and usually only does so if asked a question.

I hope A-Rod can keep it up to knock Bonds in his rightful place (below #1), but players go hot and players go cold. I didn't boo him for his poor performance up until now, and I won't boo him when he cools off either, but I still won't like him. It's great for the yanks though... now we just need to stop having all of our pitchers hurt themselves.

Oh, and as of the end of last nights game, A-Rod is on route to 130HRs
