From my experience there is no way in hell a woman should be leaving a hospital in less than 48 hours after a mastectomy.

What experience is that. The procedure itself isnt that complicated ( cant be since a surgeon let me perform one while I was a student durring my surgical rotation) its removal of primarilly adipose ( fatty) tissue and then closing the wound.

Thanks for those who signed it....for those who commented....if you had your balls removed, do you think that you would you be able to go home in a few hours?

if i had mine removed.? i think i would have to stay a few days. im no expert. but something can happen. blood clots ETC. i would think they have to keep me under observation to prevent that.

r u a doctor?

My wife had a radical mastectomy a few months ago and she was in the hospital 3 full days. One of the doctors noticed the drain wasn't functioning properly on the 3rd day and had to fix it. Luckily she was still there when it happened. I know she was in a lot of constant pain and couldn't get around almost at all until that final day. I couldn't imagine having to take her on a 2 hour car ride home any sooner than I did.

Actualy its one day of bed rest after a radical orciectomy ( thats the proper term btw;) ) with dischare hom eth efollowing day prior there ar eno complications with resumption of daily activites in 2 to 3 weeks, and hate to break it to ya but its amore invasive procedure than a mastectomy. Unless they have ot remove lymph node and/or bone tissue due to mets.

Now did your little article tell you taht too;)
