It seems like you're all from the same area and generally know eachother in person... Is that the case? Did I unfortunately stumble onto a New York/New Jersey local area forum and now I'm the outsider? :roflmao:

NJ here. SBA was created with everyone in mind, but a lot of people on here from the "tri state" area knowing each other, becoming mutual friends from either group rides, and track days and stuff. Don't feel like an outsider, we're all in this together. Hope you're enjoying the forum, spread the word in your area, the more the merrier :nod2:

Most of the people in my area are either douchebags, or don't know how to use a computer in general... lol. There's not a whole lot going on in between. The friendly ones either don't have computers, or don't know how to use it enough to have any interest in a forum.

I'll try to recruit though. I'm active on at least 25 different forums :)

I've lived dead in the middle of this state for 21 years and would rather have grown up nowhere else...

Yeah, the government is a joke, the people are rude and inconsiderate in many parts...but the things that are awesome about it totally outnumber the negatives. And NY smells 10x worse.

I wish I could turn the computer off and go for a ride.. There are two reasons why I can't:

1) I work two jobs on and off, and they're both in front of a computer... That means lots and lots of posting.

2) It's too fuckin' colddddddddddddd! Last year I rode through most of the winter, but this year I've been sick several times, and I just don't really have the right gear to be riding in such cold weather. It seems colder than last year. My bike is put up for the time being.

When do you guys predict I'll be able to start her up again? I'm hoping for March, but that's probably not going to happen.

You've been watching too many episodes of those moron Gotti's. Funny thing is most of that doesn't even come from Jersey, the Staten Island momos go to Jersey clubs during the summer and turn everything into a mess, then the next thing you know it gets televised and everyone thinks that's how we are. Same goes for the opening scene of the Sopranos, all you see is the horrible industrial/urban areas in the opening credits and thruout the show so again what you see is what you think. Head west from Newark airport towards Sussex, Warren and Hunterdon counties and you'll find some awesome roads to drag a knee on if you choose that happen to be located in some of the most rural spots you'll ever see...just a little FYI. ;)

Again, I was just kidding... but I've seen plenty of guido's in Jersey. I've been to Englishtown for Waterfest (any of you know about Waterfest?) three times, and of course we took in the night life throughout the three days we were there each year... but yes, I understand where it comes from, and I understand that you guys are uber sensitive about the topic. That's why I was poking fun about it.. lol

BTW, hope to meet lots of you at VIR sometime. I opened another bank account last year in order to dedicate it solely to my bike and the track. It's an expensive hobby, so I was hoping to get a jump start on it. Unfortunately I don't have the means to travel as of right now though

damn you, i fell for that! :P

and zero.. yeah many people here are from NJ, but quite a few that arent as well... and its a heck of a lot easier to keep up on the posts here than kawiforums.. :)

Shit, Kawiforums is slow in terms of posting... and of course, this board certainly is too. I stay on Kawiforums most of the day whether I'm at work or at home, but there's just not enough activity. lol.. I have time to read just about every new thread posted every single day. Kind of pathetic, I guess, right?

You want to talk fast paced? I'm on a forum with over 400,000 users.... :D

...and yeah, sounds good! Hope you guys can make it to VIR. It'd be cool to meet some new people.

Beacon!? Beacon sucks! lol, actually, I go out that way pretty often... I like to hike up to the top of Breakneck Ridge, though I don't know if that's technically in Beacon or not, that tunnel is also amazing when you have an exhaust that sounds good.

I spend most my nice nights between Poughkeepsie and Fishkill somewhere. Wappengers sometimes on the Friday or Saturday nights to drink some coffee and laugh at some people getting tickets.
