most of the time small stuff like coins, maybe a wallet or something basically inexpensive wash onshore (if its the jersey shore its needles, and condoms) You dont really expect a motorcycle to wash up! Or a giant wooden barrel!

It's stealing, it's not like someone lost it. The ship wrecked and it's packages went over board, it's not a big mystery who they belong to.

Fine, if you want to clear the beach then put it in a pile near the road so a clean up crew can come and pick it up. Don't try to mask it like you're doing them a favor. Enjoy your higher insurance premiums because the company that insured the stuff has to pay out.
