I'm going to be in the market for a new TV in the next month or so, probably like a 42 - 50" DLP. I have a possible hookup to get good deals so I thought I'd check if anyone else was interested before I make the call. I'm not sure of what I can get yet, but if anyone has any suggestions or is in the market too, post up and I'll see what I can do.

I think that's what he got. It's fucking awesome...Non HDTV on a smaller tv is as if I don't have my contacts in. It totally spoils you.

Oh and i saw a samsung 40" for $1100 at a walmart in PA last weekend. So that should give you a general idea of what your looking at with ant and mines prices.

If you go with DLP, be sure to get the extended warrantee and make sure it covers the bulb.

I just talked to my guy and he can get the following brands: JVC, Sharp, and Toshiba. If you have any specific models you wanted from those companies, I can run it by him. I've asked for a price list a few times but he said it doesn't work like that, he has to request prices from the warehouses for specific models, it's not a catalog or anything.

With that said I asked about a sharp Aquos (Sharp 42-Inch Aquos HD-LCD TV with ATSC / QAM / NTSC Tuner (lc42d62u)) and was quoted $1950. BestBuy had them for $2,299.99 but have since gone on sale for $2000. It looks like best buy is putting the heat on for the holiday season.

Is this still happening? Def looking for a TV for the New place I'm buying. Looking to spend about 1k or so, 42" is ideal.
