Originally this started out as a ‘disappointed in WOODCRAFT rearsets’ thread but I’m trying to maintain my ‘it could have been worse’ attitude.

2005 SV650S WOODCRAFT rearsets, upwards of $300. One would think an easy, no-brainer install. Remove the OEM rearsets and bolt on the replacements.

NOT! (well, not in my case).

The holes were offset by just a little so the bolt would not pass through the rearsets to properly thread into the frame. Thankfully I had a DREMEL tool to shave off just enough of the bottom mounting holes on both left & right sides.

A picture is worth a thousand words:

just a little bit off, the bolt will not thread properly - left side

Wow, thats surprising. I've had woodcraft on three different bikes and they all fit perfectly...

Gino, just curious, Did you contact Woodcraft? I would have first give Woodcraft the chance to send me the right part. If that didn't work out, then the Dremel would have come out.
That has to be one of the best tools ever invented.
good solution otherwise

i have not yet contacted WOODCRAFT, i should let them know of my experience. curious to know if this was just a fluke in my case.

installed the rearsets last night, going out now to see how they feel.

I am sure they would have done right by you, still might even with having to "modify the bracket". I am thinking that they may have had the wrong bracket in your kit by mistake.

Good work Gino! You'll notice a huge difference when you get back to Beaver ;)
