This is an old pic of the intake tubes (now painted black). These tubes make for a smoother flow of air into the box.

I removed the old crappy foam padding from the airbox and added some new household stuff then cut to keep it from obstructing the airflow...

Same as before I'd imagine. The only real difference is the new foam to help seal the box to the frame. The OEM stuff turns to crap after a few years of abuse. Besides I just finished it up at 9:30 last night and haven't completed putting it back together yet.

Looks good Bern. I have the same tubes on mine. I haven't decided if I am going to do anything with the airbox yet though.
I cleaned out my air filter yesterday and DAMN that thing was filthy. With the new "straight in" tubes, lots of crap gets lodged in the filter. Moreso than before because the old air intake tubes were bent and debris would get caught in the bend. Tons of insects too. Yours looks like it may be needing a wash. ;)
Water too is an issue. Careful transporting the bike if it's wet out there. I know you have an enclosed trailer, but I lost a track day recently due to excessive water getting into my bike, caused it to run like crap.
