What the hell happened? You ok?

I've never fixed anything like that, but I'd recommend you get the factory paint and clearcoat from Color-Rite @ http://www.color-rite.com/.

A body shop can fix that pretty cheaply, but the paint match is the hardest part.

Theres a method with dry ice that can be done...don't remember exacty how though...have to see if I can find the procedure...if it's creased, it might not work...

Thats not a dent, thats a scrape on a dent. The usual non-bodyshop fixes are out for that one!

Doesn't look that bad. If you can't find a cheap fix, I would get the touch up paint and clearcoat from color-rite slap it on and leave it alone.

Thats a tuff one, because the dent is on the tank line. Meaning it dented the hard bend in the metal of the tank. If you want it fixed right i would take the whole tank off and take it to a body shop. They will probally pull the dent, use a little filler and then repaint the whole tank to make sure that the paint color is uniform. Good luck!

i decided to just clean up the dented area and paint it with color rite touch up paint. im not going to worry about it. if i see a good deal on a new tank, i'll just buy and replace. until then, the touch up paint will have to do. no big deal. i'd rather shell out an extra hundred for a new tank than to pull the dent out and repaint the whole thing...pull dent + repaint the whole tank = $200-300. paint + clearcoat = $30.

i'll post a pic after i get the paint on there.

MPtotheFZ - That's just what I was going to say. Now I don't have to type it!

I'd like to see how it comes out! Just be very patient with painting stuff.

in doing my research, i read about this. basically you place some dry ice on the dent and then move the bike into direct hot sunlight. the dent allegedly comes out on it's own. but i've read on several forums that it's a myth. anyway, i decided to just paint over it. i'll replace the tank if i find a steal of a deal. until then, no biggie. :nod2:

Found a lil info on this...first need to heat up the dent with a hair dryer...then rub the dry ice on the dent...in some cases it will work...depending on severity of the dent..it also will only work on steel...not aluminum. Make sure to wear thick leathers gloves when handling dry ice.

im keeping an eye on ebay for a new/used tank. until i find a killer deal on a tank, im planning to keep it like this.

my mirror broke off during this tip over, so i decided to get these block off plates and install convex blindspot mirrors instead. the mirrors were only 2.99 at autozone and they pivot too. i have them on my car too so im used to them.

they come with double sided tape already on there. if they don't hold well, i'll probably go with hot glue.
