Bleeding brake system

I just purchased braided lines and speed bleeders screws. I think the shop may have given me the incorrect size screw. The problem is I can't get any pressure in the lines. The fluid is running through the clear hose I have attached to the bleeder screw but the lever is still coming back to the bar. Does anyone know the correct size of the caliper bleeder screw on a GSXR-1000 K5? I current have a 7mm x 1.00 speed bleeder screw in there.

If you were given the wrong size screw you would not have
been able to tighten it enough to prevent fluid leakage.
The wrong size would probably not tighten at all.

If you are starting with new, empty brake lines, it takes
a long time to manually pump enough fluid through using
the brake lever. The best way to do this is with a power
bleeder, or a "mityvac" style vacuum bleeder.

If you don't want to buy one of these, use a long piece
of clear tubing. Attach the tubing to the bleeder screw
with a small hose clamp, and suck on the other end.
It works well, and quickly.

Use a LONG piece 3-4 feet, this helps to avoid getting
brake fluid in your mouth. That shit tastes BAD.

Also be sure to bleed the banjo bolts, as they trap air
within the small groove on the inside of the bolt.

also, just make sure you have enough fluid in the system.
check your pads. are they ok? before i changed mine, the lever was coming all the way back and i wasn't getting much stopping power. doubt this is your problem, but it's something to keep in the back of your mind when your lever starts getting muchy and has a lot of travel in it

You could also use a fork oil syringe and the long tubing (should be 1/4" inner diameter) to pull the air from the lines.

Attach the tube to the nipple, pull the plunger in from the syringe slightly, and keep an eye on the master cylinder. You'll see the bubbles coming out through the tubing.

All done. It was air in the MC. Once I got that sorted total job took 10 mins.
