I have one and crashed in it twice. Never had anything better. Took both crashes like a champ. I think I paid like $500 but that was like 5 years ago. Very comfy once broken in but can be a bit hot. They are expensive but well worth the money.

Have the Vanson Mark 3. Excellent ventilation and got a hell of a deal from washington cycle works. Comes with armor but the back pad is extra. I went with the scale back pad

yeah get the soft armor for the shoulders and elbow but get the plastic back pad.
